“Vishnu sahasranama” is a set of shlokas constructed by the list of 1,000 names of one of the main forms of God in Hinduism and the supreme personification of Vaishnava Brahmans “Lord Vishnu.”. This is also one of the sacred most and commonly chanted stotras in Hinduism.

According to the “Anushasanaparva” of the epic Mahabharata, the names were handed down to Yudhisthira by the famous warrior Bhishma who was on his death bed at the battle of Kurukshetra for his queries about Mortality and Divinity.
